


Although I can't upgrade the OS to Big Sur, it does appear that Catalina 10.15 is compatible with my machine. It's been a great machine, but as stated above (I just learned from an Apple support page) Big Sur will not run on - or at least is not recommended for my MacBook Pro Retina 13", late 2012. Also known to us old farts as LR POS.What started this is I always like to run the latest OS on my mac. Lightroom, aka Lightroom Cloudy, or sometime by Adobe Techs as Lightroom Desktop runs on a computer, but stores/uses a Album on the cloud, images on the cloud. The update files are not available anymore on the Adobe webserver. Of course you do not get updates, because Adobe does not want you to update i.e. It uses a catalog placed on a hard drive, it uses photos stored anywhere but typically on a hard drive. You can install LR5 without any problems on an Apple M1 with BigSur OS. Lightroom Classic is the program you are used to. The Photography plan comes in 2 options, 20GB, and 1TB of cloud storage, that you may or may not want to use. The Photography Plan includes Photoshop, Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, Bridge, Adobe Camera RAW (for the PS) and some odds and ends.

Their is no plan with just Lightroom Classic. What you are used to is now called Lightroom Classic. That is not the Lightroom you are used to.
